Skills Coach – Children & Young People – Residential Childcare
Up to £35,000.00 per annum, dependent on experience. Permanent - Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:30, remote-based with UK travel as required.

You will provide a varied programme of delivery in line with the required qualification standards and offer an integrated programme of teaching, training, support, mentoring and development of learners.  Coaching learners within their workplace with the support of their line manager/mentor to ensure the timely achievement of their Apprenticeship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to eTraining’s vision, values, objectives and priorities and are strongly committed to them. 
  • Understand and adhere to all responsibilities to ensure that the quality requirements of eTraining’s Quality Assurance Framework, the prime contractor, funding body, OFSTED, DWP Quality Framework, or any other contract stakeholder, are maintained.
  • Promote the principles of Equality and Diversity and ensure that the policy is fully applied at all times. Understand and be committed to all personal responsibilities under H&S and Safeguarding/Prevent procedures, ensuring that the policies are adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure that the Code of Conduct, Data Protection, Harassment & Bullying, Confidentiality, Anti-Fraud, Data Security and all other policies of the Company are fully applied at all times.
  • Ensure individual expertise and subject area knowledge is up to date through Continuous Personal   Development, including sharing good practice, engaging with training and acquiring/maintaining any individual qualifications required for the role.
  • Work flexibly in the field and across offices, as and when directed by the line manager. 
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Core Competencies
  • Technical competency (qualifications and training)
  • L5 sector Professional qualification – EG: NVQ diploma at Level 4/5 in Residential Childcare (E)
  • CAVA/D32/33/A1 or equivalent training/assessment related qualification (E)
  • Teaching qualification (E)
  • L2 or equivalent in Functional Skills Math, English & ICT (E)
Essential Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience and knowledge of delivering Apprenticeship standards (E)
  • Experience and knowledge of training and/or assessment delivery (E)
  • Occupational experience within the industry of subject matter – Residential Childcare (E)
  • Experience in delivering Maths and English (E)
  • Experience of teaching within Education establishments (E)
  • Experience and knowledge of Government Funding streams (D)
  • Experience of working/assessing within Health and Social Care environments such as Adult Care homes (D)

  • Working knowledge of all relevant legislation (E)
  • Able to ensure contractual compliance and provide financial and performance information to agreed specification (E)
  • Interpersonal qualities, communicating and relating to others.
  •  Strong awareness and initiative-taking approach to Health & Safety issues (E)
  • Skilled in Customer and Employer liaison (E)
  • Good facilitator with leadership skills, with the ability to problem solve and strong decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise.
