Global Studies Tutor - Greenwich
£35.00 to £40.00 per hour, dependent on experience
Fixed-term contract until August 2026 with fixed hours during semesters. Minimum 4 contact teaching hours per module.

The NCUK/Twin IFY programme is an intensive one-year course designed to enable international students to progress on to study at a range of top UK universities. Qualifications are comparable to GCE A Level standard. You will be llocated on-site on our Greenwich campus, working face-to-face. You are an enthusiastic, competent, caring educator who is committed to making sure students achieve their desired academic progression aims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring the course module is delivered to a high standard
  • Planning learning materials, delivering face-to-face in line with syllabi and quality standards
  • Assessing students’ work and recording progress throughout the programme, setting homework, as well as completing all feedback documentation within a set-time scale
  • Setting and marking course assignments in line with exam standards and protocol. Providing timely feedback to students
  • Keep accurate records of attendance and scheme of work
  • Administrative tasks, weekly meetings and reporting on student progress
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding principles
Qualifications, Experience and Skills  
  • A relevant academic qualification at UK graduate level. E)
  • A recognised teaching qualification in the relevant subject, such as a PGCE (D)
  • Direct experience teaching Global Studies to A Level students (D)
  • Relevant 2-year teaching experience (E). This experience should relate to the delivery of a Western-style syllabus using Western conventions and methodologies. Significant teaching/qualification management experience at a reputable university may also be acceptable.
  • Direct experience of further and higher education in an international context (D) 
  • Specific experience of education in the United Kingdom (D)  
  • Experience of academic assessment and standards, and of quality assurance procedures (D)
  • Experience of teaching English as a second language (D) 
  • An understanding and appreciation of private sector education (D)
  • Experience of living and working in the United Kingdom (D) 
  • Previous experience working on similar International Foundation Year Pathway Programmes (D)
