Our EFL teachers deliver English language instruction using a communicative, student-centred approach.

Helping learners develop the four core language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing with an emphasis on practical, real-life communication. Grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary and discourse are integrated throughout the course to support meaningful language use.

Teachers are responsible for delivering a syllabus aligned with CEFR-based learning outcomes and ensuring that students communicate actively using target structures and vocabulary in every lesson.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the school syllabus, applying a communicative approach and ensuring achievement of CEFR-aligned learning outcomes while addressing students’ individual needs.
  • Assist with first-day testing, placement procedures and student induction as required.
  • Set, monitor and mark homework, including written assignments where appropriate.
  • Conduct student tutorials every four weeks and accurately record relevant information in the school management system.
  • Administer weekly assessments and ensure results are properly recorded.
  • Monitor student progress and recommend candidates for level progression tests in accordance with school policies and procedures.
  • Complete schemes of work in a timely manner, ensuring sufficient detail and alignment with learning objectives.
  • Conduct second-day, monthly and end-of-course reviews with students to enable quality assurance, monitor academic progress and address concerns related to both the academic and administrative operations of the school.
  • Integrate technology effectively into teaching, including the use of presentation tools, interactive projectors and learning applications.
  • Monitor and accurately record student attendance
  • Provide cover for absent colleagues as agreed with the Academic Manager.
  • Promote and support the school’s weekly Social Programme.
  • Teach junior classes and specialist programmes as required.
  • Participate fully in the school’s observation and performance management processes, including formal observations, peer observations, pop-in observations and appraisals.
  • Report safeguarding, welfare or health and safety concerns immediately in line with school policy.
Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience teaching in an EFL school or summer school.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • CELTA or equivalent qualification recognised by QQI
  • Experience of living or working overseas (Desirable)
  • DELTA or equivalent advanced teaching qualification (Desirable)
